Why Goin Bulilit Will Not Continue

Where are they Now: The Life And Times Of 8 Goin' Bulilit Alumni

Goin' Bulilit may not be as nostalgia-inducing as That's Entertainment or Ang TV, but with an entire decade under its belt, it has certainly given rise to a new generation of showbiz movers and shakers.

Let's take a look at some of the former cast members and see how they're doing at present, shall we?

8. Eliza Pineda

Eliza Pineda was a third batch graduate of the show, and is probably one of the most reliable hands that came from the show, always on the verge of exploding into A-List status, given the right moment to shine.

Best Known For: Doing a lot of telenovela spoofs during her tenure, including Sana Bulilit Muli and Flordeluha.

Post-Bulilit Cred: Starred in a key role in Angelito: Batang Ama, and even had a run-in with the lengthy Enteng Kabisote franchise in 2007. She flexes her acting chops quite a bit in multiple episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya.

7. EJ Jallorina

EJ is an alum from the first batch, and has had some moderate success after the show. It would seem that most of the notable alums from Goin' Bulilit made it into Mara Clara one way or another.

Best Known For: His Boy Abunda impression, which some argue was better than Jayson Ghainza's, as currently seen in Banana Split. That's pretty high praise, but certainly debatable.

Post-Bulilit Cred: Aside from a supporting role in Mara Clara, EJ also had a nice bit in Bakit 'Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo? as Max Veloso.

6. John Manalo

In 2008. John Manalo, Jericho Rosales's nephew, was part of the fourth batch of graduates from the show. He left a void that was hard to fill, because…

Best Known For: He was the go-to leading man in any teleserye spoof or pseudo-loveteam required by the show. This explains why he was paired with nearly every female drama star currently active in ABS-CBN that came from Goin' Bulilit.

Post-Bulilit Cred: Even while part of the show, John Manalo had several acting awards to his name. He's also starred in Tayong Dalawa, Mara Clara, and was part of the films Wapakman (Yes, that horrible Manny Pacquiao film with Batista in it.) and Mano Po 6.

5. Miles Ocampo

Graduated in the sixth batch, Miles Ocampo is actually best friends with our #3 and #1. She's fairly accomplished on her own, as we'll find out in a bit.

Best Known For: Mostly portraying teen dramatic roles. The transition was easy for her.

Post-Bulilit Cred: She starred as Sarah Geronimo's sister in the entire Sarah-John Lloyd trilogy of films. She also starred in the Kimerald film Paano Na Kaya. While she's mostly found herself in supporting roles, her reliability as a talented actress always comes to the fore.

4. Nash Aguas

Nash Aguas was the first Grand Kid Questor/winner of the Star Circle Kid Quest in 2004. He joined Goin' Bulilit the year after and graduated in the seventh batch.

Best Known For: Playing Margarina in Margarina, Komrad in Agent X Pulpol and Rosario in Ysabellat. He's also one of the show's original and most prominent players.

Currently Doing: Teen Clash, reportedly Star Cinema's most anticipated film this year. He's starring alongside Alexa Ilacad in this Wattpad adaptation. 2014 was a big year for Aguas as he starred in the recently concluded controversial teleseryeBagito, where he played a teenage single dad.

3. Julia Montes

Julia Montes was part of the fourth batch, and had the look of a star. She was usually pegged as a budding teen star even while she was in the show.

Best Known For: Having a pseudo-loveteam with John Manalo.

Currently Doing: Gangbusters. She played Clara in the remake of Mara Clara, and unlike the original Clara, Gladys Reyes, she managed to break free of the "forever kontrabida" typecasting, and still showed up in programs like Walang Hanggan, and films like The Reunion. And we know she's only just begun.

2. Kiray Celis

Kiray started out in the show and was mainly featured as part of the third batch graduates, and still featured in the show here and there until 2009. Then and now, her very peculiar looks never fail to capture the people's attention.

Best Known For: Being one of the most picked-on cast members during the show, mostly because of her looks.

Post-Bulilit Cred: A whole lot, really. She was also in Mara Clara with our #3 and #1, and she ironically stands as an anti-bullying icon with how she has endured despite all the teasing she got because of her unique look. In 2013, she wowed people with a series of photos depicting her "transformation."

1. Kathryn Bernardo

Everyone's guilty pleasure, the lovely and bubbly Kathryn Bernardo was a fifth batch graduate of the show. In terms of acting style a lot of people saw a younger Sarah Geronimo in her, although her singing doesn't earn the same praise just yet. That's okay, neither does her current loveteam partner.

Best Known For: A pseudo-love triangle with Julia Montes and John Manalo.

Post-Bulilit Cred: Marvelous. After Mara Clara, her loveteam with Daniel Padilla took off around 2012, which has led to multiple teleseryes, Got To Believe perhaps being the most successful of them, and a host of movies, including She's Dating the Gangster and Crazy Beautiful You, where Daniel Padilla proved why people actually recognize him as a competent actor—because they can compare his singing to his acting.
